I want to start a Song writing contest and their are lot of moving parts where do I start?"? I have an idea for a really great contest that would help unknown song writers get noticed and I don't really know anything about what goes into setting up contest or anything in the music industry.

Where can I join a community song writing contest? It is about my birthplace and my place of residence that I wish relatives, friends and tourists have to visit in the near future for a break. If none, it's okay. Hope there would be a free space in a magazine for printing for the reading public' sake.

Bop magazine had a song writing contest. i entered. how do i know if i made it into the finals.? they had this contest were u wrote a song with like purple and toes and scarf and stuff in the lyrics. i wrote a song. i sent it in. today (october 15) they were supposed to post the songs that made it into the finals on their website. i was looking around and i couldn't find anything. idk maybe they didn't put them up yet. or do i have it wrong about them posting it on their website. well they did post the song...and the only chose one rather than choosing the top five...i didn't win. lol o well. sorry guys i was looking for the post, but they took it down.

Why doesn't the UK choose an established star to enter the Eurovision Song Contest? When Russia won a couple of years ago it was with a guy who was huge in Russia and the surrounding countries, so of course he got lots of vote. The UK keeps entering some unknown found in a reality show to sing a rubbish song. Why don't they put a call out to singers/bands that are well known to write a song and enter it? The UK will never win if they don't enter a serious contender.

As the UK Eurovision entry is to be written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and American Diane Warren, I thought the song had to be written by song writers of that country, as the singer could be from any (e.g. Swiss with Celine Dion, UK with Olivia Newton John). Eurovision Song Contest - did it show Pete Waterman and Mike Stock to be 20 years out of date? Was the song written for the UK by Pete Waterman and Mike Stock (Stock Aitken Waterman) typical of the rubbish they wrote and produced around 20 years ago ? It seemed to have exactly the same beat and feel of stuff they did in the late 80's If so, why did UK not get a song writer with a contemporary style instead of these old dinosaurs ? Why not get someone with some song writing credibility like Bono (listen to something like 'sometimes you can't make it on your own') or Duffy (listen to 'Rockferry') I like your name 'Lord Penguins'. How do I write to write song lyrics? I have been having trouble writing song lyrics. I used to be able to just come up with a beat in my head and then make lyrics for it spontaneously. There was this contest to see who would be the next big thing on a radio station.
